A settlement historically known for the processing of linen and for handicrafts made from plants typical of marshlands. The parish church dedicated to St. Peter is a building dating back to the sixteenth century and was recently renovated Inside, among many canvasses and sacred furnishings, stands the Chapel of Our Lady of the Bell Tower, in memory of the apparition of the Madonna. The municipality is also known for being the birthplace of the Agazzi sisters, two distinguished teachers of children.
