Martignana di Po

Looking out on the embankment of the Po, Martignana lies on the route following the ancient Etruscan road which connects Cremona with Casalmaggiore. The Parish Church of Saint Lucy, built in the sixteenth century, houses precious ornaments in marble, including two monumental altars and many valuable paintings. The ancient palaces have significant relevance, including Villa Moneta and Villa Fadigati, testimony of residential architecture in the seventeenth century. Do not miss the old well, standing in the centre of the town hall square. As evidence of the importance of the flora of this area, part of the territory of Martignana overlooking the river is included in the Parco Golena del Po, shared jointly with the municipality of Casalmaggiore.
