St. Agatha Parish Church

The St. Agatha Parish Church (1723) in Villastrada contains an impressive cycle of frescoes by the Veronese painter Giorgio Anselmi, completed in 1793. Anselmi, famous for having painted the Hall of the Rivers in the Ducal Palace and the dome of St. Andrews in Mantua, depicted Biblical and Christological scenes, on the walls, ceiling, and arches of the chapels in the apse. In the church there are also two paintings dated 1754 by Giuseppe Bazzani (depicting the "Wailing of the Maries" and the "Deposition"), as well as a statue of Our Lady of the Rosary, of Cremona origin.
