Parish Church of Saints Gervasius and Protasius

The grandeur of the parish church of Saints Gervasius and Protasius, with its beautiful clay brick façade, is one of the signs of the advent of the Gonzagas. Inside it contains important works of art, including two wooden statues of the 1700s and frescoes of the 1400s by the famous Cremonese painter Ghisilina. Features include significant stucco work by Giovambattista Galli of Mantua, gilding by Giovanni Gaibacci of Sabbioneta and decorations by Bortolo Dall'Acqua of Vicenza. Inside there are two wooden statues of the 1700s (Saints Gervasius and Protasius) and a seventeenth-century San Rocco, also in wood, with extremely ornate confessionals of the 1700s.
