Oasi LIPU Lancone of Gussola

Amongst the species to nest here are the mallard, the coot and the moorhen as well as the Purple Heron, the Little Bittern, the Marsh Harrier and the Marsh Warbler. Even the rare Savi’s Warbler chooses the Lancone reeds in order to build its nest. In winter, there are ducks and other waterfowl, such as the Teal, Wigeon and Pochard, in the open waters, as well as Water Rails and Bitterns within the thick of the reeds vegetation, with Buzzards, Kestrels and Common Ravens flying overhead.
