Filòs biscuits

The Filòs originally referred to a group of women who, exhausted after a hard day’s work, gathered in the evening to weave. Later on, these gatherings were attended by all the members of the family and also strangers. All would talk about their day-long experiences, or counsel one another on the jobs to be done the day after, or relaxed with the little they had at hand, but above all, the elderly would hand down verbally to the youth their vicissitudes, traditions, habits, customs and precisely these traditions gave rise to the Filòs biscuits that contain the fragrances, ingredients and tastes of long ago.  (Pictures courtesy of the Sabbioneta Tourist Office).
