The Pontoon Bridges

At Torre d’Oglio, the river can be crossed on a quaint pontoon bridge. This was designed in the third decade of the twentieth century when the raft and boat hire services that had been in use since 1750 started dying out. The bridge was recently restored and is one of the last of its kind that is still in use. Another good example of a fully functioning pontoon bridge can be found in the town of Commessaggio.
