Museum of ancient weapons

Housed in an old fortified tower, the museum displays a fascinating collection of ancient weapons, composed of heterogeneous exhibits coming from different periods. The three main historical strands of the exhibition consist of weapons of the Risorgimento, exotic weapons from Latin America and memorabilia of the First World War. Created through the passion for collecting of Dott. Fosco Baboni, the collection consists of about 120 pieces divided into weapons and firearms. Among the weapons on exhibit there is a sharp morion of the sixteenth century and a spetum of the seventeenth century, both hand-forged, which constituted a valid defence for the head for the infantry of the Renaissance period. Other pieces of note include three swords of the early 1800s, some bayonets and sleeve ring and a Piedmontese sabre used by artillery officers on horseback.
